Facilities

Our area offers a number of indoor and outdoor venues for a range of sports: golf, cycling, fishing, sailing, running, and more. We’ve hosted major events, sometimes at multiple facilities in our county, with guests and spectators staying at area hotels, B&B inns, Airbnb homes, campsites, and other accommodations.

Several regionally operated outfitters offer canoeing and kayaking services in our area, including Cape Fear River Adventures, Frog Hollow Outdoors, Haw River Canoe & Kayak, and Endor Paddle. Locally owned New Horizons West offers a selection of camping gear and products for outdoor recreation.

In addition to Jordan Lake State Recreation Area, campsites are available at Dicken’s RV Park and Cotten’s Campground. We can work with you to coordinate potential camping opportunities in our other natural areas.
