DESCRIPTION

The Chatham County Yardbirds are Siler City’s collegiate wood-bat summer baseball team, playing in the Old North State League. Founded in 2026, the Yardbirds bring summer evenings of college-caliber baseball to Bray Park Sports Complex and Yardbirds Field, where families, fans, and visitors can catch games at prices designed for the whole community.

The roster is built from college players who spend their summers between semesters sharpening their game and preparing for the next level. With wood bats, close-up seating, and a small-park atmosphere, every home game is part baseball and part neighborhood gathering — the kind of slow summer night that fits naturally into a weekend in Chatham County.

The Yardbirds also run a Host-a-Player program that places athletes with local families through the season, deepening the team’s roots in Siler City and the surrounding community.

Old North State League

The 2026 Season begins Sat, May 23 and runs until Sat, Jul 18. Home games will be published on the CVB events calendar. See the full schedule here.

Home games are played at Bray Park Sports Complex, which features a lighted baseball field for night games, an on-site concession stand, restrooms, on-site parking, and the covered Wren Family Shelter for picnics and group gatherings before first pitch. Seating is general admission along the baselines and behind home plate, with views close to the action. Free parking is available on-site. Yardbirds Field is under construction with specific amenities and available parking TBA.

Group ticket packages are available for parties, organizations, and corporate outings. Contact the team for specific capacity and group seating arrangements. Tickets are available online at chathamcountyyardbirds.com or at the gate on game day, when capacity allows.

Bray Park Sports Complex requires all pets to be on leashes at all times while on park grounds. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.

Whether pets are permitted at ticketed Yardbirds home games is a separate question set by the team. Many summer collegiate ballparks limit dogs to designated “Bark in the Park” promotional nights rather than allowing them at every game. We recommend confirming directly with the Yardbirds at chathamcountyyardbirds.com before bringing a pet to a game.

Service animals, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, are welcome at all Yardbirds games and throughout Bray Park, regardless of the general pet policy.

Bray Park Sports Complex is a public park in the City of Siler City. Under the City’s posted rules, alcoholic beverages are not permitted on park premises, and outside alcohol may not be brought onto the grounds. Glass containers of any kind are also prohibited.

Whether the Yardbirds sell beer or other alcoholic beverages at home games is determined by the team’s permitting and concessions setup, which can vary game to game. Visitors planning their evening around alcohol service should confirm with the team in advance.
