Vista Point Access at Jordan Lake offers a serene, low-volume setting perfect for nature lovers, families, and small groups. Enjoy hiking two scenic trails, swimming, birding, picnicking, paddling, and beach volleyball. The area features group campsites, restrooms, picnic shelters, and boat launches. Vista Point Access at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area offers the following amenities:
- 5 group campsites accommodating up to 35 people and 1 RV group campsite with 50 total sites (electric and water hookups are available).
- 2 picnic shelters, each accommodating up to 60 people.
- 2 hiking trails: The Blue Trail (1-mile loop) and The Red Trail (3-mile loop).
- Boat ramp, sailboat launch, swimming area, and beach volleyball court.
- Restrooms are available.
- Parking is available on-site.
- Trashcans and sanitary disposal stations.
Vista Point Access has one ADA-accessible group camping site. Picnic shelters are accessible.
Yes: Pets are permitted in all state parks, as long as:
- They are on an attended leash of no longer than 6 feet.
- They are under the owner’s constant control.
- They are on pedestrian trails only.
Pet owners who do not have their pets on a leash will be fined. Owners may be asked to remove dangerous or noisy pets from the state park. Pet owners must pick up after their pets. Properly dispose of pet waste in garbage bins. Do not throw waste bags in the woods or leave them on the ground. Pets are not permitted off-trail. Visitors with pets should yield to all other trail users, including bicyclists and equestrians, when possible.
Pets are allowed in most state park campgrounds. Overnight, pets must be confined to the owner’s tent or vehicle during quiet hours. Pets are not permitted in cabins. Pets are not allowed in the bathhouses or swimming areas. Pets are strictly prohibited from entering any building, except for service animals and authorized search-and-rescue dogs.
Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited, except in designated areas. Visitors shall not be or become intoxicated while within any state park or recreation area.
