The Chatham Sports Alliance is the first point of contact for sporting event organizers and planners. From finding the site to hosting the event, we’re here to make the process as easy as possible. We assist with planning and logistics, connecting you with event partners and vendors, finding sites, recruiting volunteers, and other planning facets. Getting Here

Our location is part of the Research Triangle Region and in the center of North Carolina, which allows for an easy drive from anywhere in the state or even neighboring ones. We’re centrally located between Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and GSO International Airports, with RDU 36 miles from Pittsboro and GSO 53 miles from Siler City.

Chatham County is also home to Siler City Municipal Airport, a full-service facility for travelers, corporations, and local businesses. The city contracts with Cardinal Air for its operation. Travel assistance includes rental cars and a courtesy car for pilots.

Getting Around

Shuttle Services

If your event requires guests to conveniently travel among venues or a few sites, or perhaps you need groups to travel together on a timetable, then we will recommend area vendors who can offer shuttle services.

Chatham Transit operates for residents, and guests are welcome to use it; however, the routes are pre-determined, and they may or may not have the capacity to contract for a sporting event. We will always look to local and sustainable options for you.

EV Chargers

Our area is committed to making sustainable energy alternatives more accessible to residents and visitors alike. Using funding for EV charging infrastructure, the Chatham County Environmental Quality Department developed a free, web-based map for finding public charging stations throughout the county.

Chatham County EV Charging Station Finder offers consistent, up-to-date information for each charging station in Chatham County, including exact locations and nearby landmarks, photos, prices, charging capacity, number and type of plugs, and station network. Google Maps directions to a station’s location are just a click away.

Rental Cars

Siler City Municipal Airport and Cardinal Air proudly offer Enterprise Rent-A-Car vehicles. Contact the FBO to reserve your car. Please provide at least a day’s notice in advance, if possible. Cardinal Air will have the paperwork and the car available for you. No trips to the rental office are required.

Our other Enterprise is located just outside downtown Pittsboro. Additionally, Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Piedmont-Triad (GSO) International Airports offer rental car services.

Refuel & Refresh

It’s important to find time to refuel and refresh during your journey. In addition to the traditional gas station chains, locally owned filling stations, farm stands, markets and grocers, general stores, and pharmacies abound throughout our area. Stock up on supplies, souvenirs, and road trip snacks for those meals between meals.
